A woman who was bitten by a dog on July 6 filed a personal injury suit against the dog's owner in Madison County Circuit Court Sept. 19.

Cheryl Perigan claims she was at Lisa Guilliams' residence at 4033 Sarah in Granite City, when without provocation, she was bitten by a dog Guilliams owned.

According to Perigan, she sustained various injuries to parts of her body all of which has and in the future will cause pain, permanent disability and disfigurement.

She also claims that she has and will continue to become obligated to spend money for medical treatment in an attempt to treat her various injures.

Represented by Brad Badgley of Belleville, Perigan is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, under the Animal Control Act.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Barbara Crowder.
